The inspiration for this design came from the traditional Japanese lunch box known as "Bento." The stackable design of the Bento box allows for maximum space efficiency while keeping its volume small, providing high flexibility for different contents and situations.
I adapted this design solution into furniture and incorporated the original wooden Bento box design language.
Bento is a versatile furniture piece that can be used for a variety of purposes. Depending on the user's intention, it can be transformed into a stool, sofa, coffee table, or even a space for pets, offering a great degree of freedom in use.
Despite its simple form, Bento boasts a variety of functions, which can be easily revealed, offering a reversible charm that can be adapted to different situations and needs.
